Take advantage of a gun buyback?

http://cbs2chicago.com/local/gun.turn.in.2.777252.html

$100 for each gun (long gun or handgun)....that's not bad at all. Does anybody know where I could find some cheap, used, extremely poor condition guns in the Indiana/Michigan area?

I figure that this could be worthwhile if one could find several awful guns for under $100.

What a scam this thing is. I can't tell you how many little old ladies I saw turning in gun worth 5 or even 10 times that amount and feeling like a million bucks because their dead husbands gun was now "off the streets"... as if their attic or basement was somehow the "streets". Knowing how corrupt the chicago PD is, you know those WWII 1911 bring backs are going to be brought home in their pockets.

Even if I had a clunker POS I wanted to dispose of I wouldn't go to one of these abominations. It's disgraceful.

Gun buybacks are a fraud. That's not going to stop criminal activity. They are just using them to further disarm us.

I read about this fellow on another board I frequent who made quite a profit taking AirSoft Berettas to a gun buy back.

The FP-45 Liberator was a pistol manufactured for the United States military during World War II for use by resistance forces in occupied territories.

The FP-45 was a crude, single-shot pistol designed to be cheaply and quickly mass produced. The Liberator had just 23 largely stamped and turned steel parts that were cheap and easy to manufacture. It fired a .45 caliber pistol cartridge from an unrifled barrel. Due to the unrifled barrel, maximum effective range was only about 25 feet (less than 8 m). At longer range, the bullet would begin to tumble and stray off course.

Originally it cost US government about 2 dollars to produce it.
I can not imagine a better gun for a gun manufacturer to make for these "buy backs"

They did this in Phoenix a couple weeks ago. A couple folks from arizonashooting.com took down a few worthless junkers. You know, a $25 Jennings a couple rusty bolt action (non-working) shotguns.

Fist of all, they were able to intercept and buy a couple nice items (Makarov, Browning .22) so call that a win.

Turns out that Phoenix only had 100 cards to give out ($100 Grocery gift cards) for 5 locations, so 20 cards at each location. They ran out at about 9:30 am.

Almost everything they got was junk (sporterised Carcanos, old bolt shotguns, ravens and Jensens).

I feel like a sellout...participating in a gun buyback. I'm going to hit up a gun show or two tomorrow and see what I can find.

They'll just run to the local rag and brag about how they are saving lives and the sheep will believe some major weapons cache was found and destroyed. I bet 99% of these will be stolen by the officers or sold out the back door.

Dam............ quick thinking!!

Just make sure the goons dont see you ........or they may decide to "fight crime" then and there.

Regarding the FB-45, since most were purposely scrapped during WWII (because they were so crappy) they are very very rare now and sold by auction companies like Bonahams for $1150 see below. And this was 3 years ago. Please don't take anything to those police deals, if no one shows up they might quite doing it.

Why? Don't give them good guns...just non-working and/or junk guns. Those shouldn't be circulating anyways. No bad feelings when you're making money off the government's stupidity.

Who wants to bet that that punk won't be one of the ones there turning in his gun?
